Horses suffering from disease and medical disorders which require a high level of treatment and observation because of their critical status are also accommodated at Lisadell Equine Hospital. Following evaluation in our isolation unit these horses receive the best of diagnostic and supportive care from our dedicated team of clinicians, interns and nursing staff.

During the breeding season a number of critically ill foals are treated for a range of conditions such as neonatal maladjustment syndrome and septic arthritis. Here, we are equipped for around the clock specialised veterinary and nursing care.

This area of veterinary care is both personally rewarding and also heart breaking because of the close and intense association one builds up with these foals.
